Materials to power the modern age.

From lab bench to factory scale - fast. Versa Materials Technology is revolutionizing the way novel battery materials are developed and scaled to commercial production, right here in North America.

Our Mission

Versa Materials Technology was founded to close a critical gap in the supply chain: the domestic production of essential battery materials that power everything from defense drones to smartphones.

Projection of North American Production, GWh

Recent focus on re-igniting the American manufacturing base has spurred numerous projects to assemble batteries locally and reduced dependence on China and other Asian manufacturing sources. However, the materials to supply the battery makers remain a chokepoint in the supply chain.

Cathode, the “ion sponge” of a rechargeable battery, is absolutely essential to battery production. China produces over 80% of the world’s supply, creating a major supply chain risk.

While a few North American projects are underway, domestic production still lags far behind demand. Versa Materials Technology is closing that gap with agile, high-quality manufacturing solutions tailored to the next generation of battery applications.

About our Company

With deep industry experience, we specialize in agile, flexible manufacturing of cathode materials - designed to accelerate scale-up and commercialization. Our partnerships with leading researchers and established materials suppliers position us at the forefront of modern battery manufacturing.

Our Versa-plant process utilizes modular processing sections that are adaptable to make a wide-range of cathode chemistries. This is how we unlock real innovation in North America and leapfrog existing manufacturing giants in China.

Meet the Team

  • Chief Executive Officer & Founder

Carson led the design, scale-up, and commercialization of advanced manufacturing systems at industry leaders like ExxonMobil and Tesla, playing a critical role in launching the first commercial-scale battery materials plants in North America.

At Tesla, he managed millions of dollars in capital projects for the battery materials division, serving as the lead engineer for material handling processes and executing pilot-to-plant transitions. Prior to that, he led the commissioning of greenfield polymer production systems at ExxonMobil. His deep experience in commercial-scale chemical manufacturing has equipped him to bridge the gap between lab-scale innovation and full-scale production - critical for accelerating new battery technologies to market.

Carson founded Versa to solve a critical supply chain challenge: bringing high-performance cathode materials to market faster, with scalable domestic infrastructure. His vision blends technical rigor with entrepreneurial execution to reshape how battery materials are made in North America.
